ENMAN
Orenda Art Works is pleased to present Enman, a multimedia exhibition of video and mixed media works by Ryoko Goto. A native of Japan, Goto's works are highly personal, and have "hidden stories." For the first time, Orenda Art Works is presenting a virtual exhibition in 3D utilizing Kunst Matrix. The "hidden stories" may be seen in this exhibition by approaching each work and clicking on "more info."
The video is an eclectic mash of imagery and shots of Goto at work, challenging the viewer to put together the practice of painting, and the practice of everyday life. At the end of the video, Goto returns to an embryonic state, laying in a box of wood shavings. Her nakedness and vulnerability stands as a metaphor for how exposed one is when presenting one's self through art.
